“IN ORDER TO RISE FROM ITS OWN ASHES, A PHOENIX FIRST MUST BURN.”

Message from the creator of this book –

Humankind is self-destructive. Of course, other people can indeed hurt us, but we do well enough on our own. We make a mistake, or something  “bad” happens and there we go… spiraling into hell – a hell that we’ve created in our minds and can’t seem to break free from.

I’ve been there – in that dark place where it feels like the weight of the world is yours alone to carry; when you’re not sure which way is up anymore, and the demand to just stay strong feels like too much. When do you get a chance to just be

vulnerable?

Journaling was one of the daily practices that helped me through that turmoil. It was how I realized that the person hurting me the worst was me – Holding onto things that I couldn’t go back and change. Taking time for myself and journaling was how I found my way back to Me again.

We spend so much time running from our fears that we don’t really face them. We spend so much time trying to be happy, that we don’t allow ourselves to be sad sometimes – to breathe, to heal and truly move on. We spend so much time trying to pretend we’re not in pain that our wounds fester instead of heal.
